Book Description
Doves Born of Flames is a multilingual poetry anthology bringing voices from around the world in diverse languages (with English translations) to witness and re-imagine the effects of on-going global conflicts on our humanity. By including diverse tongues sitting side by side on the page or recited audibly in the online version, the invitation to the reader or listener is to hear the common chords, the calls for peace and justice, no matter the context or language. The voices in this collection emerge as bearers of truth, guardians of empathy, embracing grief and glimmers of joy and resilience simultaneously. The essential theme of this collection is about reimagining “peace” as a dynamic action, an urgent necessity and responsibility to collectively create the conditions in which we can all live in a more peaceful and resilient world.
